RE: Remediation Work Plan for Tract 6338 on Paladino Drive
City of Bakersfield
Dear Ms. Robertson,
This office has received the above referenced work plan, dated December 15,
2004. Upon initial review, the work plan appears to propose depositing
petroleum impacted soils under the City's streets within this tract.
This office cannot concur with any proposal to deliberately place petroleum
impacted soils in the City's right-of-way without the express written approval
by the City of Bakersfield's Public Works Department. You should contact
Ms. Marian Shaw in the Subdivision Engineering Division of the Public Works
Department at (661) 326-3579 to obtain such approval.
In addition, this office is in receipt of a letter from your client, Signal Hill
Petroleum, dated December 6, 2004, which specified that certain other
provisions would be addressed in any such remedial action work plans. A
copy of that letter is attached. Please insure that any work plans submitted
comply with your client's directives.
