City of Bakersfield
Consolidated Plan (ConPlan) 2010
Community Opinion Needs Survey
The City of Bakersfield is preparing a new Consolidated Plan which is
federally required for the continued use of funds from the U.S. Department
of Housing and Urban Development. As part of this new strategic plan, a housing and community needs
survey has been prepared for obtaining citizen feedback for the future use of Community Development Block
Grant (CDBG), Emergency Shelter Grant (ESG), and HOME Investment Partnership Program (HOME) funds.
These federal funds are used by the City on an annual basis to primarily benefit low-income persons in
housing, community and economic development related activities. An important part of preparing the new
Consolidated Plan is to ask you, the resident, what you think are the important needs in your community.
