A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD ORDERING THE VACATION OF 20 FEET
OF THE RIGHT-OF-WAY ON THE WEST SIDE OF PIERCE
ROAD BETWEEN BRITTAN ROAD AND ORIN WAY IN THE
CITY OF BAKERSFIELD.
WHEREAS, on the 11th day of September, 1985, the Council
of the City of Bakersfield, pursuant to the provisions of the
"Public Streets, Highways and Service Easements Vacation Law",
being Chapter 3 of Part 3 of Division 9 of the Streets and
Highways Code of the State of California, passed and adopted its
Resolution of Intention No. 991 declaring its intention to order
the vacation of 20 feet of the right-of-way on the west side of
Pierce Road between Brittan Road and Orin Way in the City of
Bakersfield, California; and
WHEREAS, said Council did fix a time and place for hear-
ing all persons interested in or objecting to said proposed vaca-
tion, which said hearing was held on the 16th day of October,
1985, after notices were duly published and posted as required by
law; and
WHEREAS, this Council after duly considering the matter,
does hereby find and resolve as follows:
1. That 20 feet of the right-of-way on the west side of
Pierce Road between Brittan Road and Orin Way in the City of
Bakersfield, County of Kern, State of California, more particu-
larly described in Exhibit "A" attached hereto and made a part
hereof, is unnecessary for present or prospective public street
purposes.
2. That 20 feet of the right-of-way on the west side of
Pierce Road between Brittan Road and Orin Way be and the same is
hereby closed up, vacated and abandoned for public street pur-
poses, subject to and in conformity with any reservations and
exceptions contained in and contemplated by said Resolution of
Intention No. 991. Reference contemplated by said Resolution of
Intention is hereby made for further particulars.
3. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage of
this Resolution and shall cause a certified copy hereof, attested
by the Clerk under the seal of the City, to be recorded in the
office of the County Recorder of the County of Kern, California.

regular meeting thereof held on the 16th day of October ,

Three parcels of land situated in the City of. Bakersfield, County of Kern, State
of Californla, being a portion of Section 23, T29S, R27E, M.D.B. & M. and more
partlcularly described as follows:
PARCEL I: The Point of Beginning being the southeast corner of Lot 1 of Tract
No. IOOl recorded September 26, 1930 in Book 4 of Maps at page 27 in the Office
of the Kern County Recorder; Thence North 0o02' East along east lines of lots
1 and 2 110.10 feet to the beginning of a 20 foot radius curve, concave to the
southwest; thence northwesterly along said curve through a central angle of
89°43' and an arc distance of 31.32 feet; thence South 89°41' East along a
prolongation of the south right of way line of Getty. Street 20.00 feet to the
beginning of a 20 foot radius curve concave to southwest; thence southeasterly
along said curve through a central angle of 89o43' and an arc distance of 31.32
feet; thence South 0o02' West along a llne parallel with the east lines of said
lots I and 2 a distance of llO.10 feet to a point of the south boundary of said
Tract No. fOOl; thence North 89o41' West along said boundary llne 20.00 feet to
the Point of Beginning.
PARCEL 2: The Point of Beginning being the point on the south line of lot 3 of
said Tract No. ]001 where a 20 foot radius lot llne curve begins concave to the
northwest, said point also being on the north right of way line of Getty Street;
thence northeasterly along said curve a central angle of 90°17' and an arc distance
of 31.51 feet; thence North 0o02' East along the east lot lines of lots 3, 4, 5
and 6 of said Tract No. 1001 220.00 feet to the beginning of a 20 foot radius
curve concave to the southwest; thence northwesteFly along said curve through a
central angle of 89°43' and an arc distance of 31.32 feel; thence South 89°41'
East along a prolongation of south right of way llne of Gulf Street, a distance
of 20.00 feet to the beginning of a 20 foot radius curve concave to the southwest;
thence southeasterly along said curve through a central angle of 89°43' and an
arc distance of 31.32 feet; thence South 0°02' West along a llne parallel with
the east lines of said lots 3, 4, 5 and 6 a distance of 220.00 feet to the
beginning of a 20 foot radius curve concave to the northwest; thence southwesterly
along said curve through a central angle of 90°17' and an arc distance of 31.51
feet; thence North 89°41' East and along a prolongation of the north right of
way line of Getty Street a distance of 20.00 feet to the Point of Beginning.

Tract lOOI; thence South. 89 41 East along the north boundary l~ne of sa~d
Tract, a distance of 20.00 feet; thence South 0°02' West along a line parallel
