A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD ORDERING THE VACATION OF THE
SOUTHERLY NINE FEET OF BUTTE STREET BETWEEN
KING STREET AND BEALE AVENUE IN THE CITY
OF BAKERSFIELD.
WHEREAS, on the 14th day of August, 1985, the Council of
the City of Bakersfield, pursuant to the provisions of the
"Public Streets, Highways and Service Easements Vacation Law",
being Chapter 3 of Part 3 of Division 9 of the Streets and
~ighways Code of the State of California, passed and adopted its
Resolution of Intention No. 988 declaring its intention to order
the vacation of the southerly nine (9) feet of Butte Street bet-
ween King Street and Beale Avenue in the City of Bakersfield,
California; and
WHEREAS, said Council did fix a time and place for hear-
ing all persons interested in or objecting to said proposed vaca-
tion, which said hearing was held on the 25th day of September,
1985, after notices were duly published and posted as required by
law; and
WHEREAS, this Council after duly considering the matter,
does hereby find and resolve as follows:
1. That the southerly nine (9) feet of Butte Street
between King Street and Beale Avenue in the City of Bakersfield,
County of Kern, State of California, more particularly described
in Exhibit "A" attached hereto and made a part hereof, is unne-
cessary for present or prospective public street purposes.
2. That the southerly nine (9) feet of Butte Street
between King Street and Beale Avenue be and the same is hereby
closed up, vacated and abandoned for public street purposes, sub-
ject to and in conformity with any reservations and exceptions
contained in and contemplated by said Resolution of Intention
No. 988. Reference contemplated by said Resolution of Intention
is hereby made for further particulars.
3. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage of
this Resolution and shall cause a certified copy hereof, attested
by the Clerk under the seal of the City, to be recorded in the
office of the County Recorder of the County of Kern, California.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was
passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a
regular meeting thereof held on the 25th day of September ,
1985, by the following vote:

A parcel of land situated in the City of Bakersfield, County
of Kern, State of California, being a portion of Section 29,
Township 29 South, Range 28 East, M.D.B. ~ M., more particularly
described as follows:
The southerly 9 feet of Butte Street (formerly "B" Street)
bounded on the west by the northerly extension of the west
line of Block 236 and on the east by the northerly extension
of the east line of said Block 236 as said Block 256 and
"B" Street are shown on the Map Kern recorded April 10, 1893,
in Map Book 1 at page SS in the Office of the Kern County
Recorder.
Excepting and reserving therefrom the westerly 250 feet as a
utility easement.
