A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD MAKING FINDINGS THAT NO WRITTEN
PROTEST HAS BEEN FILED AND ORDERING THE
TERRITORY DESIGNATED AS PROCEEDING NO. 86'7,
ANNEXATION NO. 296 (REAL NO. 5), ANNEXED
TO THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD.
WHEREAS, Resolution ot Application No. ~-85, dated
January 30, 19~5, was submitted to the Local Agency Formation
Commission of Kern County ("Commission") tor the annexation of
territory to the City o2 Bakersfield designated as Proceeding
No. ~61, Annexation No. 296 (REAL NO. 5); and
WHEREAS, a duly noticed public hearing upon said pro-
posai was held before the Commission on the 14th day o~ May, 19~5,
and continued to May 2~, 19~5; and
WHEREAS, lollowing said public hearing, the Commission,
on May 2~, 19~5, adopted its Resolution MaKing Determination,
being Resolution No. ~5-21, recorded in M~nute Book 31 ot said
Commission; and
WHEREAS, on June 12, 19~4, the Council o~ the City
of BaKersfield adopted its Resolution No. ~2-~5 initiating pro-
ceedings for annexation o~ the said territory to the City o~
Ba~ers[~eld and setting Wednesday, the 24th day o2 July, 19~5,
at the hour of '! p.m. (or as soon therealter as the matter
could be heard) in the Council Chambers o~ the City Hall,
1501 Truxtun Avenue, Bakersfield, California, as the time, date
and place o~ hearing on the proposed annexation and the owners o~
land within the said territory were duly informed ot their right
to tile written protests against the annexation with the City
Clerk at any time prior to the conclusion o2 the hearing on the
proposed annexation; and
WHEREAS, the public hearing was duly and regularly con-
ducted by and before the City Council at its meeting o~
July 24, 19~5, in all respects in accordance with Resolution
No. ~2-85.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AND ORDERED by the
Council of the City ot Bakersfield as follows:
1. In accordance with Section 35229 ot the Government
Code, it is hereby found regarding the value ot written protests
~lled and not withdrawn by owners ot land and improvements at
the conclusion of the public hearing, as follows:
No written protests against the sa~d annexation were
filed with the Clerk of the City of Bakersfield at any time prior
to the conclusion ot the public hearing on the proposed annexation.
2. The description of the exterior boundaries ot the
territory annexed is contained ~n Exhibit "A", attached hereto
and incorporated in this Resolution as though fully set forth
herein.
3. That the said territory designated as Proceeding
No. ~67, Annexation No. 296 (REAL NO. b), and described
herein, and every part thereof, is hereby ordered annexed to the
City o~ Bakersfield.
4. That the Clerk shall ~orthwith transmit a certified
copy ot this resolution ordering a change ot organization, along
with any required remittance to cover the tees required by
Section 54902.5 o~ the Government Code, to the executive officer
ot the Local Agency Formation Commission ot Kern County.
5. That the executive o~cer of the Commission is
hereby requested to prepare and execute a certificate of comple-
tion and make the tilings required by Chapter 4 ot the Municipal
Organization Act o~ 1977 and record a certified copy ot the cer-
tification of completion with the recorder ot Kern County, with
the surveyor o~ Kern County and with the Clerk ot the City ok
Bakersfield.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the goregoing Resolution was
passed and adopted by the Council o~ the City o~ Bakersfield at a
regular meeting thereof held on the 24th day of July ,

ANNEXATION NO. 296
REAL NO. 5
A parcel o£ land situated in the County of Kern, State
of California, being a portion of the Northeast Quarter
of Section 11, Township 30 South, Range 27 East, M.D.M.,
more particularly described as follows:
Commencing at the northwest corner of the northeast
quarter of the northeast quarter of said Section 11;
thence S O0° 34' 09" W, 520.60 feet; thence S 88° 50'
ll" E, 30.00 feet to the northwest corner of Lot 8 as
shown on Tract No. 2720, recorded on June 15, 1962, in
Map Book 12 at page 196, said corner being a point in
the existing exterior Corporate Boundary of the City
of Bakersfield and the True Point of Beginning;
THENCE (1) Clockwise along said exterior Corporate
Boundary, completely circumscribing the parcel of
land herein described, to the True Point of Beginning.
Said parcel also being described as a portion of said
Tract No. 2720 and Tract No. '2628 recorded on November
24, 1961, in Map Book 12 at page 105, as said Tracts
are recorded in the Office of the County Recorder of
said Kern County.
Containing 17.4 Acres, more or less.
