RESOLUTION NO. '2 1 0 - 0 5'
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE FINANCE
DIRECTOR TO SELL SURPLUS POLICE
DEPARTMENT EQUIPMENT
WHEREAS, the Bakersfield Police Department possesses surplus equipment
including approximately 40 riot helmets, leather belts and miscellaneous leather gear
including holsters, cuff cases and magazine holders that are no longer serviceable for
the Police Department; and
WHEREAS, the Bakersfield Police Department has removed all identifying
decals, markers, and stamps from such equipment; and,
WHEREAS, the United States Army desires to buy all such surplus equipment
for consideration of one dollar; and,
WHEREAS, the Bakersfield Police Department and the City of Bakersfield desire
to donate such surplus unmarked equipment to the Army for use by Iraqi police for one
dollar;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield
as follows:
1, The above recitals and findings are true and correct and are incorporated
herein by reference.
2. The Finance Director, pursuant to Bakersfield Municipal Code section
3.20.120(f), is authorized to sell the above-referenced surplus equipment to the United
States Army for the total amount of $1.00.
