RESOLUTION DETERMINING THAT CERTAIN USED
VEHICLES CANNOT BE REASONABLY OBTAINED
THROUGH USUAL BIDDING PROCEDURES AND
AUTHORIZING THE FINANCE DIRECTOR TO DISPENSE
WITH FORMAL BIDDING THEREFOR, NOT TO EXCEED
$140,000. (SEVEN REPLACEMENT SEDANS FOR POLICE
DEPARTMENT)
WHEREAS, The City of Bakersfield Police Department is in need of seven
(7) replacement used vehicles for use within the Police Department; and
WHEREAS, the unique characteristics involved with the purchase of used
vehicles make it impractical for normal bidding procedures; and
WHEREAS, the Finance Director has determined that the purchasing of
certain used vehicles can only be reasonably obtained from one vendor because multiple
bids for like vehicles cannot be obtained, and has recommended that this Council
authorize dispensing with bidding therefor, in accordance with Section 3.20.030 D of the
Bakersfield Municipal Code.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of
Bakersfield as follows:
The Council hereby finds that the purchase of seven (7) used vehicles for the

because of the unique characteristics involved with the purchase of used equipment, and
authorize the Finance Director to dispense with bidding therefor and to negotiate the
