A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD DECLARING TUESDAY, APRIL 16, 1985,
TO BE "THE DAY OF THE TEACHER".
WHEREAS, the State Board of Education, acting with the
authority of the Governor of california, has declared Tuesday,
April 16, 1985, to be "The Day of the Teacher"; and
WHEREAS, the Bakersfield city Council recognizes the pro-
fessional excellence and the commitment to quality education of
the teachers of Bakersfield; and
WHEREAS, the Council wishes to commend Bakersfield's
teachers for their many accomplishments with our young people and
for their many contributions to our community.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the
City of Bakersfield declares Tuesday, April 16, 1985, to be "The
Day of the Teacher" in the City of Bakersfield.
