A RESOLUTION OF TIlE COUNCIL OF TIIE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD
ESTABLISHING TUE OFFICIAL LIST OF DESIGNATED SPECIAL
SPEED ZONES, PURSUANT TO CItAPTER 10.24 OF THE BAKERSFIELD
MUNICIPAL CODE.
~tEREAS, the City Council desires to enact prima facie speed
limits on streets and roadways within the City of Bakersfield and
WItEREAS, said prima facie speed limits are enacted pursuant
to the provisions of the California Vehicle Code; and
WItEREAS, said prima facie speed limits are being established
for streets in the City of Bakersfield, after a traffic engineering survey
was conducted; and
WIIEREAS, said prima facie speed limits will be incorporated into
a "List of Speed Zones" for the City of Bakersfield.
NOW, TUEREFORE, BE IT' RESOLVED by the Council of the City of
Bakersfield as follows:
1. Resolution No. 35-80 is hereby repealed.
2. Resolution No. 22-82 is hereby repealed.
3. Under provisions of Chapter 10.24 of the Municipal Code of the
City of Bakersfield, the prima facie speed limits for the following streets,
or portions thereof, are hereby determined and declared to be twenty-five
miles per hour, and shall be included on the official City "List of Speed
Zones":
"A" Street, California Ave. to Chester Ln.
Baker Street, Niles St. to Truxtun Ave.
Chester Avenue, 24th St. to Truxtun Ave.
Easton Drive, Hontclair St. to California Ave.
"1"' Street, 24th St. to 14th St.
"Q" Street, Truxtun Ave. to 21st St.
Truxtun Avenue, "F" St. to "L" St.
18th Street, "M" St. to "F" St.
19th Street, "G" St. to "F" St.
21st Street, "M" St. to "F" St.
4. Under provisions of Chapter 10.24 of the Municipal Code of
the City of Bakersfield, the prima facie speed limits for the foliowing
streets, or portions thereof, are hereby determined and declared to be
thirty miles per hour and shall be included on the offical City "l,ist of
Speed Zones":

Real Road, Palm Ave. to Stockdale Hwy.
University Avenue, Haley St. to River Blvd.
Virginia Avenue, SPRR (East City Limit) to King St.
