RESOLUTION OF APPLICATION OF THE COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD PROPOSING PROCEEDINGS
FOR ANNEXATION OF TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD IDENTIFIED AS ANNEXATION NO. 300
(HARRIS NO. 4).
WHEREAS, the City of Bakersfield desires to propose a
change of organization, to wit, the annexation to the City of
Bakersfield of the hereinafter-described territory, pursuant to
Section 35140 of the Government Code of the State of California.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the
City of Bakersfield that it hereby finds and determines as follows:
1. That the City of Bakersfield hereby proposes the
annexation to the City of Bakersfield of the territory described
in Exhibit "A", attached hereto and made a part of this resolution
as though fully set forth herein.
2. That a map of the territory proposed to be so
annexed, marked Exhibit "B", is attached hereto and made a part
of this Resolution as though fully set forth herein.
3. That a Plan for providing services within the
affected territory of the proposed annexation, in accordance with
the provisions of Section 35102 of the Government Code, is marked
as Exhibit "C", attached hereto and made a part hereof as though
fully set forth herein.

A parcel of land situate in the County of Kern, State of
California, being a portion of tile west hal£ of Section 25,
Township $0 South, Range 27 East, M.D.M., more particularly
described as follows:
Beginning at the intersectiou of tile east line of the west
30 feet of said Section 23 with tile south line of the north
30 feet of the soutit half of said Section, said intersection
being a point in the existing exterior Corporate Boundary of
the City of Bakersfield;
Thence (1) Clockwise along .';aid exterior Corporate Boundary,
completely circumscribing the parcel of land herein described,
to the Point of Beginning.

through the City Police Department located at the SW corner of
Truxtun and Eye Streets about 7 miles SE of the annexation.
Station No. 7 is within 3 miles at 4030 Sorrano Avenue.

The City Corporation Yard on Truxtun Avenue
west of Freeway 99 will provide necessary
facilities, personnel and services to
accomodate Public Works efforts. Maintenance
and personnel wi.il be dispmtched from the City
Yard on a regular basis for preventative main-
tenance as needed. Repair includes streets,
constructed/maintenance, sweeping and lighting
Connection to City sewer system may be made to Stine Road or
Harris Road trunk lines. Effluant would then be treated by the
City Wastewater Treatment Plant #3.

Would city require any upgrading or change in facili{ies to serve affected terri-
tory (roads, fire hydrmnts0 mains~ etc.)? If so, would city o__r residents be
responsible for financing? The City will not require any upgrading or changes
in existing facilities. Should the residents of Harris #q want area wide street
lights and sewers,-the City would assist them in establishing a.public improvement
district to finance installation of these improvements.
Indicate and exp'lain existing zoning in affected territory. See' attached zoning
map 12~-23. The existing zone is E-l, R-S [Estate Zone - Suburban Residential]
E-q, R-S [One-Acre Estate Zone -Suburban Residential) and C-l. P-D [NeiRhborhood
Commercial - Precise Development Zone). Zoning upon annexation will be R-S,
R-l, CH and C-].
Indicate and explain proposed prezoning in area. (List effects on present land
use that would occur as a result of annexation such as maintenance of livestock
on property, etc.) Real #S is fullM developed into 47 E-1 R-S lots, 2 E-4 R-S lots
and 1C-1 R-D lot. The Clty's R-S, R-1CH and C-i pre-zon~ng are compatible and
consistent with the existing zoning and wJth the adopted Metropolitan Area General
Plan. There would be no effect on the present land use.
