A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD MAKING FINDINGS AND APPROVING
PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO THE CIRCULATION
ELEMENT OF THE BAKERSFIELD METROPOLITAN
AREA GENERAL PLAN.
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Bakersfield referred
a proposed amendment to the Circulation Element of the Bakersfield
Metropolitan Area General Plan to the Planning Commission; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Bakersfield,
in accordance with the provisions of Section 65351 of the Government
Code, held a public hearing on December 20, 1984, on the proposed
amendment to the Circulation Element of the General Plan, notice
of the time and place of hearing having been given at least ten
(10) calendar days before said hearing by publication in the
Bakersfield Californian, a local newspaper of general circulation;
and
WHEREAS, such amendment to the Circulation Element of
the Bakersfield Metropolitan Area General Plan is as follows:
The City of Bakersfield has applied to amend
the Circulation Element of the Bakersfield
Metropc. litan Area General Plan to allow for
the southerly realignment of Stockdale High-
way for that portion generally located West
of Old River Road to the Kern River.
WHEREAS, for the above-described amendment, the Planning
Commission on December 20, lq84, made findings and recommended
certification by the City Council of completion of a Final
En%~ironmental Impact Report, and the Council has this date
certified as complete said EIR; and
WHEREAS, the law and regulations relating to the prepara-
tion and adoption of Environmental Impact Reports as set forth in
CEOA, the State Environmental Impact Report Guidelines and City of
Bakersfield Resolution No. 132-83 have been duly followed by the
City staff and Planning Commission.
WHEREAS, by Resolution No. 114-84 on December 20, 1984,
the Planning Commission recommended approval and adoption of
the proposed amendment by this Council; and
WHEREAS, the Council of

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED and found by the
Council of the City of Bakersfield as follows:

the Secretary of the Planning Commission to the City Council,
hereby received, accepted and approved.
3. The City Council hereby approves and adopts the
proposed amendment to the Circulation
Metropolitan Area Genera] Plan.
