A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE APPLICATION FOR
AND EXECUTION OF NECESSARY AGREEMENTS OR
DOCUMENTS FOR GRANT FUNDS THROUGH THE
WORKFORCE HOUSING REWARD GRANT PROGRAM
FROM THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF
HOUSING AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT.
WHEREAS, funding for the Workforce Housing Reward Grant Program
(WFH) has been made available pursuant to the Housing and Emergency Shelter Trust
Fund of 2002; and
WHEREAS, the City of Bakersfield has received the application package
for the WFH; and
WHEREAS, the City of Bakersfield will apply for and submit the
Application Package released December 2005 by the Department for the Workforce
Housing Reward Grant Program (WFH); and
WHEREAS, pursuant to statute, the Department is authorized to approve
funding allocations for the program, subject to the terms and conditions of the Notice of
Funding Availability (NOFA) and Program Guidelines, Application Package and
Standard Agreement;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Bakersfield
hereby:
1. Authorizes the Mayor or City Manager, and his or her designee, to
execute in the name of the City of Bakersfield the Application Package, the Standard
Agreement, and all other documents required by the Department for participation in the
WFH.
2. Shall be subject to the terms and conditions as specified in the Standard
Agreement. Funds are to be used for allowable capital asset project expenditures to be
identified in Attachment A of the Contract. The application in full is incorporated as part
of the Contract and any and all activities funded, information provided, and timelines
represented in the application are enforceable through the Contract. The City of
Bakersfield hereby agrees to use the funds for eligible capital asset(s) in the manner
presented in the application as approved by the Department and in accordance with the
NOFA and Program Guidelines and Application Package. The City of Bakersfield also
may execute any and all instruments required by the Department for participation in the
WFH Program.
