A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING ASSEMBLY
BILL 1905 TO AMEND THE SEPARATION OF
GRADE DISTRICT ACT (STREETS AND
HIGHWAYS CODE § 8100, ET SEQ.).
WHEREAS, existing law requires the California Transportation Commission to make
allocations for grade-separation projects, including allocations to local agencies; and
WHEREAS, existing law requires the County Board of Supervisors to exclude
uninhabited, farm acreage from a separation of grade district; and
WHEREAS, Assembly Bill 1905 will specifically include in the definition of "local
agency" a separation of grade district and include uninhabited farm acreage in a
separation of grade district; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Bakersfield
as follows:
1)
The City of Bakersfield fully supports the passage of Assembly Bill 1905 as
currently constituted; and
2)
Staff is directed to prepare a letter of support to be sent to James R. Parker,
Jr., the attorney for the Greater Bakersfield Separation of Grade District.
