RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER OR HIS
DESIGNEE, TO CONDUCT NEGOTIATIONS NECESSARY TO
OBTAIN THE REQUIRED EASEMENTS FOR TIlE
CONSTRUCTION OF THE BUENA VISTA I1 AND ALLEN
ROAD SEWER TRUNK I,INES.
WHEREAS, Section 3.20.105 C of the Bakersfield Municipal C ode requires that
contracts under which the city is obligated to pay twenty-five thousand dollars or more shall be
authorized nnly by the City Council; and
WHEREAS, the construction of the Buena Vista II and Allen Road sewer trunk lines
requires the acquisition of temporary and permanent easements; and
WHEREAS, time is of the essence, and, the City finds it necessary to authorize the
City Manager or his designee to conduct negotiations to obtain such easements; and
WHEREAS, funds are available in the project account within the 1997-1998 fiscal
ycar budget to pay lbr costs associated with the easement acquisition.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
1. That sufficient thnds are available in the City's 1997-98 fiscal year(s) budget;
2. That the City Manager, or his designee, as agent of the Cily, is authorized to
conduct all negotiations, and execute and submit all documents necessary to acquire easements lbr
the construction of the Buena Vista II and ,Allen Road sewer trunk lines.
