0RDIN~ICES NOS, 36, 38, 40 and z~l NEW SERIES," be and. the same is here-
by s~mended to read as follows:
~EUTION 2.
Every person, firm or corporation engaged. in the business
as a. physician, surgeon, cniropractic, dentist, occulist, general con~-
tractor, osteopath, lawyer, or buying, selling or renting real estate
and receiving commissions thereon and therefor or maintaining a real
estate business for the purpose of buying, selling or rentiR~ 'real
estate, and'maintaining an office in the City of Bakersfield, shall pay
a license fee of Twenty-five (82~.00) dollars per year.
No license shall be issued under the provisions of this
section to any person, firm or corporation engaged in any business,
profession or occupation requiring a state license to carry on, conduct
or practice same, ,lnless such person snail'exhibit to the Chie]~ of
Police an unexpired and unrevoked license entitlir~ such person to so
within the sta~De of California, and. before issui~ any license provided
for netsin, the said. Chief of Police shall require every applicant
therefor to fu:misn satisfactory proof that he is the person named. in
the license issued by said State of California, or any Board of Examin~.rs
