as follows: .,~
SECTION 1.
That ·Section 257 of Ordinance No. 152 New Series, known
as The Building Ordinance, be and the same is hereby amended
'to read as follows:
FLOORS.
SECTION 25V.
All floors on which automobiles are stored shall be
of concrete or other suitable incombustible material, provided
that any floor in a private garage may be constructed om. ~round
sills of redwood, provided said sills are not less than two (2")
inches in thickness nor less than six (8") inches in width and
provided further that said private garage is located and situated
outside the Fire Limits of the City of Bakersfield, and is not
less than twenty (20) feet from any residence and not less than
three (3)'feet from any lot line, provided it shall not be necessary
to construct said floors of cencrete or other incombustible material.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Ordinance was passed
and adopted by the council of the City of'Bakersfield on the
