ACTION OR PROCEEDINGS NECESS~Y TO ABATE THE
NUISABCE AS AFORESAID.
WHEHEAS the houses numbered 1015 and 10~7 and a b.~.~;s..e

without number, all located and situated on Lots 4 and 5, Block 389
in the City of Bakersfield, corner of 13th and N Streets have been
carefully investigated by ~ohn Lueder, Assistant Building Inspector,
W. E. Van Meter, Chief of the. Fire Department and Thos. W. Dupem,
Chief Building Inspector of the City'of Be. kersfield, and
~FFLEREAS THE immediate preservation of the public health,
property .and safety requires the passage of this ordinance, and
WHEREAS, after such. investigation it is found that said
houses and premises are maintained in violation of the provisions
of an act of the Legislature of the State of California, entitled
"AN ACT TO REGULATE THE CONSTRUCTION, ·RECONSTRUCTION, MOVING, ALTER-
ATION, MAINTENANCE~ USE AND OCCUPANCY OF DWELLINGS, AND THE MAINTENANCE,
USE AND OCCUPANCY OF THE PREMISES AND LAND ON WHICH DWELLINGS ARE
ERECTED OR LOCATED, IN INCORPORATED TOWNS, INCORPORATED CITIES, AND
INCORPORATED CITES AND COUNTIES, AND TO PROVIDE PENALTIES FOR THE
VIOLATION THEREOF, '! approved May 31st, 1917;
AND ~BEREAS, said houses are now inhabited and are unsafe,
unclean, unsanitary,. dangerous to' life, and unfit to be maintained;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF TI-RE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD, as follows:
SECTION 1 --'
That the houses numbered lO15 and lfY~7 and a house without
number located and situated on Lots 4 and 5 in Block 389 in the City
of Bakersfield, corner of 13th and N Streets be and the same are
hereby declared a nuisance.

SECTION 2.
That the City Attorney and ~uilding Inspector of the. City
of Bakersfield are hereby authorized 'and directed tO '~a~j.' 'such .. ~ation ..

SECTION 3.
