AN ORDINANCE CREATIN~ THE OFFICES OF;.,..:..:!~.~

WHEREAS, the daily operation of the License Department
and the Tax ~ollecting Department require the passage of an
emergency ordinance;
SECTION 1.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF. BAKERSFI ~LD, as follows:
There is hereby created the offlC.es of License Collector·
and Tax Collector, who shall· hold office at the pleasure of the
Council of the City of Bakersfield and rec6ive such compensation
as shall be ·fixed by the uouncil.
SECTION
The duties of the License Collecto-r.s,~all be to execute
all licenses provided by ordinances of the..~ity'of Bakersfield
and-~:"receive all monies paid for said licenses and.to'do·and.
perform all and further acts and things as may be required of
said License Collector by ordinances and'Ohar~er of the City of
Bakersfield and the laws of the _State..of-Ca!.ifornia. and to do all

and further acts as the Council of the... y of Bakersfield may re-
.quire, and all such other ac~s~,.and duties as his~q~fi.~e..as License

of the City of Bakersfield as the same are now or may hereafter
be amended and to do and perform any and all acts required to be
done Under the .Charter of the City of Bakersfield and the"~;f..
the State of California, and'to do any and all such further acts
as the Council of the City of Bakersfield may require and -to
do all and further acts as his office as Tax Collector may
require.
SECTION 4.
That said License ·Collector shall execute a good and
sufficient undertaking in the sum of ~ dollars, for
the faithful performance of his official duties be
· signed and executed by a surety company authorized to do business
in the State of CalifornAa.

and is hereby declared to be an emergency measure and shall be in
