SECT I ON 1,
That Section 4 of Ordinance No. 1V1 'New Series re.gulating
public dances, be s. nd the same is hereb.~ am. ended to read. as follows:
SECTION 4.
Upon receiving- such ·application the City Manager shall
refer the same to the Chief of Police for investigation·as to the
moral character of the a_Dplicant and to the Building Inspector of
the Cit~' of Bakersfield for investigation as to whether or not
the place for which it is asked, a "oublic dance hal permit is
to.....~' given, complies with and conforms to all laws.,· ordinances,
health. and fire regulations applicable thereto and is properly

ventilated and supplied with separate and sufficient toilet con-
veniences' for each sex ~vithin the building in which the dance is
to be.,conducted and. is a safe and. proper place for the ourpose
