AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 4 OF ORDINANCE
NO. 183 NEW SERIES BY ADDING A NEW SUBDIVISION
THERETO, TO BE KNOWN AS SUBDIVISION a.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE ·COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD,
as follows:
That a new subdivision to be known as Subdivision a
be added to section 4 of Ordinance no. 183 New Series, of the
City of ·Bakersfield wstablishing a residence district and prohibit-
ing certain factories, works and'businesses from being established
maintained.or carried on in such district, to read as foil. owe:
SECTION 4. (a)
Beginning at a point in the northerly line of 21st Street
said point being the southeast corner of Block'186, City of Bakers-
and running thence northerly alon~ the easterly line of Blocks 186
173, 146, 133 and 106 to the southerly· line of 26th Stree~ thence
easterly along said· southerly line of 26th Street and. the extension
easterly thereof to the easterly line or bank of that certain
water course commonly known as and calle'd the Kern Island Canal;
thence in a general direction southwesterly along the easterly line
or bank of said·Kern· Island Canal to the northerly line·of 21st
Street; thence westerly along the northerly line of said 21st Street
to the point Of beginning.

and· adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfiel'd, on the ~,'~
day of October, 1923, by the following vote:
