AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE PROTECT-
ION OF PUBLIC PROPERTY A~D MAKING THE
ViOLATiONS HEREOF A MISDEI~EANOR.
aS follows:
SECTION 1.
BE IT 0RDAINED BY THE CO~qCIL OF THE 0ITY OF BAKERSFIELD,
Any person who shall cut, break, deface or injure any
grass plat, trees, shrubs, flowers, bench, chair, outhouse, building,
· or fixture upon any street, public walk, park or other public place
in this City; or any other property whether personal or real
belonging to the City of Bakersfield; or who shall lie or sleep upon
any chair, bench Or seat in any improved public park or plaza; or who
shall break or injure any lapp posts, or extinguish during the night
time, any light maintained for public convenience or safety within
said city, without lawful authority; or who-shall remove or cause the
removal of any street guide, or any portion thereof from any public
lamp or pos~.~r who shall obliterate, deface, destroy or interfere
with any street guide or any portion thereof upon or attached to
any fence, post, or any public lamp post; or who shall obliterate,
deface or remove any.public number upon any house, door, building or
public place, is guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof
shall be punished by a fine not to exceed three hundred dollars
($300.00) or by imprisonment in the County Jail of Kern County not
exceeding one hundred and eighty days (180) or by both such fine and
imprisonment.

and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield on the
