AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE
N0. 190, NE~J SERIES, BY ADDING
A NE~ SECTION TO BE K~0WN AS
SECTION 53B.
BE IT 02DAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF ~HE CITY OF BAKEHSFIELD,
That Ordinance No. 190 New Series, regulating and imposing
municipal licenses, be and the same is hereby amended by adding a
new section thereto to be numbered and known as Section 83B, as follows:
SECTION..53.B .... Every person, .finn or corporation, w~j.o at a regular and
fixed place of business engage in the. business of loaning and advanc-
ing · and taking .in .whol~ or in pa~t ·.for such loan and advance, any
chattel mortgage, bill of sale, or ot~er obligation or contract, in-
volving the ~'.orfeiture Of rights in or to personal property, the use
for possession of which is retained by others than the mortgagee or
lender, shall pay a license fee to the City of Bakersfield at the rate
of twenty-five ($25.00) dollars per year, provided that the provisions
of this section shall not be applicable to, or affect in any way the
provisions of this ordinance relative to the c'ollection of license
fees affecting pawn brokers, as the same is defined in this ordinance,
or any amendments thereto.
I HEHEBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Ordinance was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersi'ield, on the ~
day of February, 1925, by the following vote:
