AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 18 OF
ORDINANCE N0. 1.53 NEW SERIES OF THE
CITY OF BAKERSFIELD, CALIFORNIA.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAKERS-
--. FIELD, as follows:
SECTION '°~'.
That section 18 of Ordinance No. 18S New Series, being
the Plumbing Ordinance, be and the same is hereby amended' to read
as follows:
SECTION 18. License.
It shall be unlawful for' any person, firm .or corpora-
tion to engage in the business of Master Plumber, or to do or per-
.. ~form any plumbing work in the City of Bakersfield, without first
having c6m~lied with the provisions. of this ordinance by securing
the license herein ~rovided for, and paying the fee for business
license as prescribed in Ordinance No.l~O~ New Series; provided
however, that a temporary pe~it shall be immediately issued to
.a~..applicant which temporary permit shall entitle the h·older thereof
to do plumbin.g work. Such temporary permit shall be ~..eyoked as soon
as the holder. thereof has been accorded a~ Opportunity "appearing -
before t.he examini. ng board for examination. Should the holder of a
temporary permit fail, neglect, or refuse, upon proper written noti-
fication, to appear before the examining board the temporary permit
shall be at once revoked and cannot be renewed'except by a majority
vote of the examining board. Provided further that-·~thing in this
ordinance shall be construed as prohibiting an owner f~ doing
plumbing work on ~is own premises if such work meets the require-
ments of this ordinance.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Ordinance was
