HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD NO 247 0RDINA CE. NO, N .W SERI .S, ! AN ORDINANCE REGULATiNG THE POSSESSION AND HANDLING OF DYNAMITE AND OTHER HIGHLY EX- PLOSIVE SUBSTANCES WITHIN THE CITY OF BAKERSFE-LD. WHEREAS the immediate preservation of the public health, property and safety requires the passage of this ordinance.; NOW THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Council of the City of Bakersfield, as follows: SECTION 1. It ~hall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to keep or have in his or their possession any gunpowder, nitroglycerine, dynamite or other highly explosive substances within the City of Bakers- field, without first securing a written permit from the City Manager Of the Ci~ty of Bakers'field,.~.·allowing possession of gunpowder, .nitroglycerine, dynamite and other'highly explosive substances. SECTION 2. The City Manager of the City of Bakersfield may upon such terms .-and conditions,--as to him seems best, grant permits to any person, firm or ~orporatign, giving the right to'possess gunpowder, nitroglycer- ine, dynamite. or other highly explosive substances.· SECTION 3. Any person, firm or corporation who violates 'any of the provisions~of this ordinance shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be ~ined not more than Five Hundred ($800.00) Dollars, or imprisoned in the County Jail for a period not e~ceeding six (6) months, or by both such fine and imprisonment. SECTION 4. This ordinances is designated for the immediate preser- vation of the public health, property and safety and is hereby declared to be an emergency measure and shall be in full force and effect ~a uary , 1925 ..... ~~~~ ouncil of the ~ayor of the City of BakS~'sfield~C . ..~.._.. immediately upon its passage. ..........
