12 OF ORDINANCE NO. 188 NEW
SERIES OF THE CITY OF BAKERS-
FIELD, CALIF0~d~'IA.
BE iT 0RDAiNED BY THE C0oUNCiL OF THE CITY OF BAKERS-
FIELD,'as follows:
SECTION 1.
That section 12 of Ordinance No. 18S New Series
entitled, "An Ordinance regulating the manner of installing and
erecting signs and providing for their inspection in the City of
Bakersfield, and repealing Ordinance No. 88 ~ntitled "An Ordinance.
on the subject of incandescent and electric signs; allowing the
use and regulating the character and the use of same and repeal-
in~ 'all parts of othOr ordinances in conflict with this ordinance',
and'all ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith",
be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows:
SECTION 12. .Nothing in this ordinance shall be construed as
.p~ohibiting the use of decorations or temporary banners used dur-
ing times of general celebrations; or as prohibiting the use of
canvas banners stretched across the street for a period not to
exceed fifteen days when a permit for the use of such banners is
granted by the. City Manager and a permit obtained from the Build-
ing Inspector after such grant by the City ~anager.
I HEHEBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Ordinance'was
passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield on
the 7 day of October, 1924, by the fSllowing vote:
