AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION S7

BAKERSFIELD, CALIFORNIA."

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAKEHS-
FIELD, as follows: .... ~

That section 57 under Chapter II entitled-~'Storage-.:
Tan~..Capacity and Restriction," of Ordinance No. 1S1 New
Series regulating the Fire Department of the City of Bakersfield,
be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows:
SECTION 57. Upon the written request addressed to the City
Manager of the City of Bakersfield,' o'f any reliable person, firm
or corporation or its duly authorized agent accompanied with plans
and specifications of.such proposed storage tank or tanks above
ground, which are to contain gasoline, kerosene, naptha or other
inflamable liquid in accordance with the' conditions and plans
adopted in December 191S by the National Board of Underwrite~rs
and National Fire Protection Association, and a~endments thereto,
and Upon the recommendation of the Chief of.the Fire Department
of the City of Bakersfield it shall be lawful'for such person,
firm, corporation or agent after obtaining a permit from said
City 'Manager as hereinafter provided to construct such storage
tank or tanks above. ground which may contain gasoline, kerosene,
naptha or other inflamable liquids in th~ City of Bakersfield.
And it is further provided, that such permit may be
granted to s aid applicant if it shall appear to the said City
Manager, that such person, firm, corporation, 'its agents or
assigns are responsibi~'~nd reliable; and it'f~rthe~ appea~s to
said City Manager that said proposed location is a ~saf~eand
protected place, free from all fire hazards.
I HEREBY CERTIFY' that the foregoing Ordinance ~~

passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield,
on the ~7~day of October, 1924, by the following vote:
Ayes-Austin, Baer, Carlisle. Carlock, Grimth, Haberfelde, Stoner
City Clerk and ex-officio Clerk of the
Council of the City of Bakersfield.
