AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE
NO., 280, NEW SERIES, SECTION 19,
OF THE CITY OP BAKERSFIELD.
BE IT 0RDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY 0F BAKERSFIELD,
as follows:
SECTION 1.
That Section 19 of Ordinance No. 260, New Series, of the
City of Bakersfield, passed and adopted by the Council of the City
of 'Bakersfield on December 14th, 1925, be and the same is hereby
amended to read as follows:
SECTION 19.
Boulevard Stops. The following streets and parts of streets are
hereby declared to constitute boulevards.for the purpose of this
section; to-wit:
Nineteenth Street.~
East Nineteenth Street, from Union Avenue to
Baker Street;
Union Avenue, from California Avenue to
Kentucky Street;
Kentucky Street, from Union Avenue .to Baker
Street;
California Avenue, from Oak Street to Baker
Street;
F Street, from Nineteenth Street to Fifteenth
Street;
Chester Avenue; and
Baker Street.
Every operator.of a vehicle or street.car traversing any
street intersecting any boulevard shall stop such vehicle or street
car at the place where such street meets the'nearest property line
of the boulevard before entering such boulevard, provided the
property line is clearly marked or signposted as required in this
ordinance.
The City Manager is hereby authorized and required to
.... place .and maintain or cause to be placed and maintained in the
street, appropriate signs or devices or marks upon the roadway
upon each and every street entering or crossing a boulevard,
such signs, devices or marks to bear the word "STOP" or the
words "BOULEVARD STOP" in such position and with letters of a
size to be clearly legible from ~ distance of fifty (50) feet
along the street entering the boulevard.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Ordinance was
regularly introduced, passed and adopted by the Council of the
City of Bakersfield, at a regular. meeting thereof held on the
