AN ORDINANCE ALTERING THE FORMER BOUND-
ARIES OF WARD NUMBER SIX OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD SO AS'TO INCLUDE THE NE~ IN-
HABITED ANNEXED TERRITORY WITHIN THE
BOUNDARIES OF WARD NUMBER SIX OF THE CITY
OF BAK]~RSFIELD, CALIFORNIA.
BE IT RESOLVED, that whereas,'there has been duly,
regularly and legally annexed to and made a part of and incor-
porated in .the City of Bakersfield the following described
property, said property being more particularly described as
follows:
Beginning at the intersection of the southerly
line of Palm Street with the westerly .line of
A'Street and running thence westerly along .the
southerly line of Palm Street and the extension
westerly thereof to the westerly line of Oak
Street; thence southerly along the westerly line.
of Oak Street to the extension westerly of the..
southerly line of 2rid Street, as said 2rid Street'
is shown on the map of the Goode Tract, filed
and recorded in the office of the County Recorder
of Kern County, California, May 2rid,. 1910; thence,
easterly along said extension of the southerly
line of said 2nd Street to the westerly line of
A Street; thence northerly along the westerly
line of A Street to the southerly line' of. Palm
Street and the point of beginning.
That said property was annexed to and incorporated in
the City of Bakersfield in accordance with an act of the Legisla-
ture of the State of .California, entitled,. "An act to provide for
the alteration of the boundaries of and for the annexation of terri-
tory to municipal corporations, for the incorporation of such
annexed territory in and as a part thereof, and for the district-
ing, government and 'municipal control of such annexed territory,"
approved June llth, 1913, and all acts amendstory thereof and
'supplementary thereto.;. and
WHEREAS, the above mentioned act of. the Legislature
requires the Council of the City of Bakersfield, by ordinance,
to alter the boundaries of the ward of the City' of Bakersfield,
so as to include such annexed' territory in one Or more wards;and
WHEREAS,' Ward Number Six of the City Of Bakersfield
is the only ward adjoining such annexed territory;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT 0RDAINED THAT T~ COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF BAKERSFIELD DOES HEREBY alter the former boundaries of
Ward Number Six so as to include the annexed territory hereinabove
particularly described, and do hereby fix and determine that the
boundaries of Ward Number Six of the City of Bakersfield shall be
as follows:
Beginning at the intersection of the boundary line
between Sections 30 and31, Township 29South,Range
28 East, M. D. B. & M. and the center line 9f.Chester
Avenue; thence westerly along said bounda~ry line and
the boundary line between Sections 25 and 36,.Township
29 South, Range 28 East, M. D. B. & M. to the westerly
line of Oak Street; thence southerly along the west-
erly .line of Oak Street to the eXtensiOn westerly of
the southerly. line of 2rid Street; thence easterly along
the extension westerly of th~ southerly line of 2rid
Street to the westerly line of A Street; thence south,~"'.
erly along the westerly line of A Street to the south-
erly line of Brundage Lane; thence easterly along the
southerly line of Brundage Lane to the westerly line
of H Street South; thence southerly along the westerly
line of H Street South to the southerly line of Terrace
Way; thence easterly along the southerly line of Terrace
Way to its intersection with the extension southerly of
the easterly line of Block F, Virginia Tract; thence
northerly along said extension and along the. easterly
line of Block F to the southerly line of Brundage Lane;
thence westerly along the southerly line of .Brundage
Lane to its intersection with a line 305.25 feet west-
erly from and parallel with the westerly line of Chester
Avenue; thence northerly along said line parallel with
the westerly line of Chester Avenue to the southerly
.line of 4th Street; thence easterly along the southerly
line of 4th Street to the center line of Chester Avenue;
thence northerly.along the center line of Chester Avenue
to the point of beginning.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Ordinance was
passed and adopted 'by the Co .uncil of the City of Bakersfield, on
