AN ORDINANCE CREATING THE OFFICE OF
DEPUTY TREASURER, DEPUTY TAX COLLEC-
TOR AND DEPUTY LICENSE COLLECTOR,
PROVIDING FOR THE APPOINTMENT AND
TERM OF OFFICE OF SAID DEPUTY TREAS-
URER, DEPUTY TAX COLLECT(R AND DEPUTY
LICENSE COLLECTOR, PRESCRIBING THE
DUTIES AND POWERS OF SAID DEPUTY
TREASURER, DEPUTY TAX COLLECTOR, AND
DEPUTY LICENSE COLLECTOR, AND REPEAL-
ING ORDINANCE NO. 184 NEW SERIES, AND
ORDINANCE NO. 32~ NEW SERIES,. OF THE
CITY OF BAKERSFIELD.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD,
as follows:
SECTION 1.
There is hereby created the office of Deputy Treasurer,
Deputy Tax Collector and Deputy License Collector of the City of
Bakersfield. The Deputy Treasurer, Deputy Tax Collector and Deputy
License Collector of said City of Bakersfield shall be appointed
by the Treasurer, Tax Collector and License Collector of the City
of Bakersfield and shall hold office at the pleasure of said Treas-
urer, Tax Collector and License Collector, and shall receive such
compensation as shall be fixed by the Council.
SECTION 2.
The Deputy Treasurer, Deputy Tax Collector and Deputy
License Collector shall perform such duties as m~y be assigned
to him by the Treasurer, Tax Collector and License Collector of
the City of Bakersfield and such other and further duties as may
be required by him as his office demands and such other duties
as the ordinances and Charter of the City of Bakersfield and
the laws of the State of California may require.
SECTION 5.
The said Deputy Treasurer, Deputy Tax Collector and
Deputy License Collector shall have and possess the same powers
as his principal, and in the absence or inability of said princi-
pal to perform the duties of said offices, the said Deputy shall
have full power and authority to do and perform all acts which
said offices may require.
SECTION 4.
Ordinance No. 184 New Series, and Ordinance No. 323
New Series, and all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are ~ereby expressly repealed.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Ordinance was
passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield,
