BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAKEHSFIELD, as follows: .... SECTION 1. That it is hereby declared to be unlawful for any person, firm or partnership, association or corporation within the City of Bakersfield to sell, or offer for sale, any uncured or uncooked meats, or to remove any uncured or uncooked meats from any estab- lished place of business in the City of Bakersfield for the pur[~ose of sale or delivery to dealers or consumers, or for the purpose of any delivery, or to keep open for business any place of business where any uncured or uncooked meats are sold or offered for sale, or to permit the same to be kept open for business, or to receive at such place of business any umcured or uncooked meats between the hours of six o'clock P. i~]. and six o'clock A. M. of the following day, or on any Sunday (except that shipments of such meats may be made out of the City in wholesale lots during that time), or to sell or offer for sale within the City of Bakersfield any uncured or uncooked meats except at and from an establ~ shed and fixed place of business in the City of Bak.~rsfield, which meats (poultry, rabbit, and fish excepted) have been, previous to such sale, regularly inspected by State or Fed- eral inspectors, or by both' State and Federal inspectors, and the same approved and stamped according to law. SECTION 2. Every person, partnership, associat.io~, firm or corporation violating any of the provisions of this ordinance, or doing any act or thing here in declared to be unlawful, shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon convict~ on thereof shall b e punishable by a fine not to exceed five hundred dollars, or by imprison- ment in the County Jail of Kern County not exceeding one hundred and eighty days, or by both such fine and imprisonment. Every persoD, firm or corporation violating any of the provisioDs of this Ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a separate offense for each day or portion thereof during which such violation continues and shall be punishable therefor as herein provided. SECTION 3. If any sect.ion, subsection, sentence, clause or phrase of this Ordinance is for any r easo~' held to be unconstitutional or invalid, such decisions shall not affect the remaining portion of this Ordinance. The City Council hereby decla~'es that it would have passed this Ordinance and each section and subsection there- of, irrespective ~f the fact that ar,y one or ~ore of the sections, subsections, sentences, clauses or r. hrase.$ be declared unconstitu- tional or invalid. SECTION 4. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby expressly repealed. ..... o0o .....
