0F THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD.
BE IT 0EDAINRD BY THE COUNCIL 0F THE CITY OF BAKERS-
FIELD, as followsf
SECTION 1.
That Section 8 of Ordinance No. 178 New Series of the
City of Bakers field, passed and adopted by the Council of the City
of Bakersfield on the 2nd day of July, 1923, entitled "AN ORDINANCE
REGULATING THE PLAYING OF CARDS AND ROLLING OF DICE WITHIN THE
CITY OF BAKERSFIELD, REQUIRING A PERMIT THEREFOR, MAKING THE
VIOLATION THEREOF A MISDEMEANOR AND PROVIDING A PENALTY THEREFOR,
AND REPEALING ORDINANCE N0. 145 NEW SERIES AND ALL OTHER ORDINANCES
AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HERk~VITH", be and the same is
hereby amended to read as follows:
SECTION 8.
All permits granted hereunder shall expire on the 1st
day of January next succeeding the date of issue, unless it is
revoked or surrendered .--~r~x. .': to said date; the same shall not
be assignable, but upon the sale or transfer of said business the
City Manager may, upon application therefor, issue a new permit to
the purchaser of said business upon the same t. erms and conditions
that the original permit was issued.
SECTION 2.
All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewitb are hereby expressly repealed.
