AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE
N0. 291 NEW SERIES, AND SECTION 6 THEREOF,
AND REPEALING ORDINANCE N0. ~18 NEW SERIES
OF THE CITY 0F BAKERSFIELD.
WHEREAS, the peace, safety and weldfare of the inhabi-
tants of the City of Bakersfield require the passage of an emer-
gency ordinance mending Ordinance No. ~1 New Series, and Sec-
tion 6 thereof, and repealing Ordinance No. 318 New Series,
BE IT 0RDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD,
as follows:
SECTION 1. That Section 6 of Ordinance No. 291 New Series of the City.
of Bakersfield, passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bak-
ersfield on the 16th day of Nay, 192V, be and the cams is hereby
mended to read as follows:
SECTION 6.
No license shall be issued by the License Collector of the
City of Bakers field to any person, firm, association or corporation
engaged in maintaining or conducting any of the attractions as men-
tioned in this ordinance, without first securing a written permit
as provided for herein; and further provided that no license or per-
mit shall be issued to ar~ person, firm, association or corporation
for any exhibition of a caravan, menagerie or other collection of
animals, circus or acrobatic performances, for pay, to be held be-
tween the 15th day of August, and the 1st day of October, of each
and every year.
SECTION 2. That.Ordinance No. 315 New Series of the City of Bakers-
field, and all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict here-
with, are hereby expressly repealed.
SECTION 3. This emergency ordinance shall be in effect immediately
upon its passage by the Council of the City of Bskersfield.

I HEEEBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Emergency Ordinance
was passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield,
on the sy of September, 1930, by the following vote:
