AN ORDINANCE AI'?.ENDING SUBDIVISION 4 OF SEC-
TION 17 OF ORDINANCE N0. 548 NEW. SERIES, OF
THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD.
BE IT 0RDAINED BY THE ?0UNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAIGERSFIELD,
as follows:
SECTION 1.
That Subdivision 4 of Section IV of Ordinance No. 348
New Series entitled "AN ORDINANCE REC~JLATING AND IMPOSING
MUNICIPAL LICENSES; DESCRIBING F0W AND Bv WHOM LICENSES AND PER-
MITS SHALL BE OBTAINED; MAKING A VIOLATION HEREOF A MISDENfiEANOR
AND PRESCRIBING A PENALTY THEREFOR, AND REPEALING ORDINANCES NOS.
190, 192, 213, 233, 246, 249, 250, 264, 288, 290, 301 AND 316
NEW SERIES, AND ALL OTHER 0RDINANSES 0R PA~TS OF 0RDINANgES IN
CONFLICT HEREWITH." be and the same is hereby amended to read
as follows:
(Section 17 ).
4. Bankrupt, Assigned or Damaged Goods.
Every person, firm or corporation who sells in the City
of Bakersfield any bankrupt, assigned or damaged goods, wares or
merchandise, drugs, jewelry, dry goods, boots, shoes, clothing,
Pardware, groceries, fiArniture or other stock of merchandise shall
pay a license fee of one hundred ($100.00) dollars per day, payable
daily. in advance; provided that this section shall not apply to any
stock 6r goods owned by any person actually conducting a regular
place of business in the City of Bs. kersfield, which stock has been
damaged by fire, or water resulting from such fire, at his said
place of business.
SECTION 2.
All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
are 'hereby expressly repealed.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Ordinance was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield on the
