N0.3g NE V SERIES AN ORDINANCE REGULATING EXHIBITIONS, CONTESTS, ENTER- TAINMENT, 0R OTHER FEATS OF PASTIME AND/OR LABOR WHICH ARE DETRIMENTAL TO PUBLIC OR PERSONAL LIFE OR HEALTH, AND PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR VIOLATION EREOF, AND RE- PEALING ORDINANCE N0. 384 NEW SERIES. BE IT 01~DAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAKERS~IELD, as follows: SECTION 1. It shall be unlmvful for any person, firm, corporation or organization, either as principal or agent, to engage in the business or occupation of conducting any exhibition contest, entertainment or any other feats of pastime and/or labor which calls for participation past fatigue or to the point of exhaustion. SECTION 2. When, in the opinion of the City Health Officer of the City of Bakers field, said contest, entertainment or feats of pas-~. time and/or labor have reached the point where' they are detri- mental to the public and/or personal health and/or life, then in that event, it shall be the duty of said Health Officer to dis- continue the same. It shall be unlawful for any person, firm, association or corporation to advertise or operate any entertainment or at- traction continuously on a twenty-four (24) hour basis. SEC TI ON 3. Ordinance No. 584 New Series of the City of Bakersfield, and all other ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict here- with, are hereby expressly repealed. SECTION 4. Any person, firm or corporation violating any of the provisions of ~his ordinance, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof shall be punishable by a fine not to exceed three hundred ($300.00) dollars, or by imprisonment in the County Jail for a period not exceeding ninety (90) days, or by both such fine and imprisonment.
