AN ORDINANCE REGULATING EXHIBITIONS, CONTESTS,'
ENTERTAINMENT, OR OTHER EATS OF PASTIME AND/OR
LABOR WHICH ARE DETRIMENTAL TO PUBLIC OR PER-
SONAL LIFE OR HEALTH, AND PROVIDING A PENALTY
FOR VIOLATION HEREOF.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAW~.RSFIELD,
as follows:
SECTION 1.
It shall be unlawful for any person, firm, corporation
or organization, either as principal or agent, to engage in the
business or occupation of conducting any exhibition contest, enter-
tainment or any other feats of pastime and/or labor which calls
for participation past fatigue or to the point of exhaustion.
SECTION 2.
When, in the opinion of the City Health. Officer of
the City of Bakers field, said contest, entertainment or feats of
pastime and/or labor have reached the point where they are detri-
mental to the public and/or personal health and/or life, then
in that event, it shall be the duty of said Health Officer to
discontinue the same.
SECTION 3.
All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith am hereby expressly repealed.
SECTION 4.
Any person, firm or corporation violating any of the
provisions of this ordinance, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor,
and upon conviction thereof shall be punishable by a fine not to
exceed three hundred ($~00.00) dollars, or by imprisonment in the
County Jail for a ~period not exceeding ninety (90) days, or by
both such fine and imprisonment.
