BE IT 0RDAINED BY T}I COUNCIL OF T}E CITY OF BAIGRSFIELD,
as follows:
SECTION 1.
That S~etton ~ of Ordinance No. ~0 New Series of the
City of Bakersfield be and the same is hereby amended to read as
follows:
Section 4.
Every Class "A" Contractor, before he shall be permitted
to register or shall be issued a license, as provided in Ordinance
No. 591 New Terics of the City of Bakersfield, shall furnish a
surety bond in the penal sum of one thousand (i~lO00.00) dollars to
the City of Bakersfield, approved by the City Attorney, and file
same with the Department of Building.
The condition of said bond· shall be that the principal shall
comply with the provisions of this ordinance, and shall indemnify
and save harmless the City of Bakersfield, California, and any person,
firm or corporation for loss through any failure on the part of said
principal in carrying on said business according to this ordinance,
or any amendments hereto.
The liability of the surety upon said bond shall be and
remain in full force and effect for the full period of the certificate
or license issued to the principal and each and every renewal thereof,
or new certificate or license issued for the same purpose to the
principal.
Section 41. s
Any contractor shall without additional charge remedy any
defect due to faulty workmanship, incorrect construction and/or de-

fective or unapproved materials, devices, appliances, and the like,
installed, furnished, or u~:ed hy said contr~.ctor or his agent or
eraployee, to the sotisfaction of the Department of Building, within
18 days after notice thereof is given to said contractor by said
Building Department.

with are hereby expressly repealed.

I HEREBY CERTi~'Y that the foregoing Ordinance was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield on the//~
