as follows:
SECTION 1.
That Section 22 of Ordinance No. 339 New Series of the
City of Bakersfield be and the same is hereby amended to read as
follows, to-wit:
Section 22.
It shall be Unlawful for any person to smoke a pipe, cigar,
or cigarette or to light or strike any match or other open light in
any theatre, except open air theatres, and excepting also in the re-
tiring rooms, smoking rooms, balconies, and galleries of theatres in
Class "A" or.Class "B" buildings, as defined by the Building Code
of the City of Bakersfield.
SECTION 2.
All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict here-
with are hereby e~ressly repe~led.

and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield on the~'~'t
day of January, 1935, at a regular meeting thereof, by the following
