RECEPTION AND PROVIDING A PENALTY. THEREFOR.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF' BAEERSFT~..LD;
follows;
SECTION 1.
It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation or
association, or any employee or either thereof, to operate in the
City of Bakersfield any electrical device, appliance, equipmen{ or
apparatus, the operation of which causes or produces am unreasonable
interference with radio broadcast reception within said City when
such interference is avoidable or may be substantially,·l..~..~uced dur-
ing the normal use of such device, appliance or apparatus, by the
owner or operator or person causing the operation thereof making or
causing to be made modifications or changes in s.aid device, appli-
ance or apparatus or in the method or manner of operating the same.
SECTION 2.
This ordinance shall not apply to any commercial or amateur
radio broadcasting station operated or licensed by the Government
of the United States or which is engaged in interstate communication.
SECTION 3.
Any person violating any of the provisions of this Ordinance
shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof shall
be punished by a fine of not more than Three Hundred Dollars ($300.00)
or by imprisonment in the County Jail for not more th_a_m ninety
days, or by both such fine and imprisonment.
