AN ORDINANCE LEVYING UPON THE ASSESSED
VALUATION OF THE TAXABLE PROPERTY IN
THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD; A RATE OF TAXA-
TION UPON EACH HUNDRED DOLLARS OF VALUA-
TION FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGI~l~ING JULY
l, 1938, AND ENDING JUNE 30, 1939.
BE IT 0RDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF TEE CITY OF BAEERSFIELD,
as follows:
Section 1
That there is hereby levied a tax of one ($1.00) dollar
on each one hundred ($100.00) dollars of the assessed valuation
of all taxable property in the City of Bakersfield, County of
Kern, State of California, for municipal expenses of the Muni-
cipal Government of said City (excepting as hereinafter mentioned)
during the ~iscal year beginning with the first day of July,
and ending with the thirtieth day of June, 1~39.
Section 2
That there is hereby levied a tax of eighteen ($.18)
cents on each one hundred ($100.00) dollars of the assessed
valuation of all taxable property within the City of Bakersfield,
County of Kern, State of California for Parks and Playgrounds.
Section 3
That there is hereby levied a tax of one ($.01) cent on
each one hundred ($100.00) dollars of the assessed valuation of
all taxable property within the City of Bakersfield, County of
Kern, State of California, for Free Library and Reading Rooms.
Section 4
That there is herebF levied a tax of twenty-seven
cents on each one hundred ($100.00) dollars of the assessed valua-
tion of all taxable property within the City of Bakersfield,
~ounty of Kern, S~ate of California, for t~e acquisition and con-
struction of a sanitary main/~ewer, sewage pumping station and

sewage treatment plant.
Section 5
That there is hereby levied a tax of two ($.02) cents
on each one hundred ($100.00) dollars of the assessed valua-
tion of all taxable property within the boundaries of the
City of Bakersfield, County of Kern, State of California, as
said boundaries were fixed and determined, on the'Z2nd day of
March, 1923, for interest and sinking fund on 1912 Sewer Bonds.
Section 6'
That there is hereby levied a tax of two ($.02) cents
on each one hundred ($100.00) dollars of the assessed valuation
of all taxable property within the boundaries of the City of
Bakersfield, County of Kern, State of California, as said
boundaries were fixed and deteEnined, on the 22nd day of March,
1923, for interest end sinking fund on the 1912 City Hell Bonds.
Section 7
That there is hereby levied a tax of one half ($.005)
cent on each one hundred ($100.00) dollars of the assessed
valuation of all taxable property within the boundaries of the
City of Bakersfield, County of Kern, State of California, as
said boundaries were fixed and determined, on the 22nd day of
March, 1923, for interest and sinking fund on the 1912 Fire
Department Bonds.
Section 8
That there is hereby levied a tax of one half ($.005)
cent on each one hundred ($100.00) dollars of the assessed
valuation of all taxable property within the boundaries of the
City of BakersfielC, County of Kern, State of California, as
said boundaries were fixed and determined, on the 22rid day of
March, 1923, for interest and sinking fund on the 1912 Library
Bonds.
Section 9
That there is hereby levied a tax of two ($.02) cents
on each one hundred ($100.00) Collars of the assessed valua-
tion of all taxable property within the boundaries of the City
of Bakersfield, which was known and designated as the City of
Bakersfield prior to the consolidation of said City and Town
of Kern, X'or interes~ and sinking fund on Sewer Bond Number One.
Section l0
That there is hereby levied a tax of four ($.04) cents
on each one hundred ($100.00) dollars of the assessed valuation
oX° all taxable property within the City of Bakers field, County
of Kern, State of California, for interest and sinking fund on
the 1938 Fire Station Bonds.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the rotegoing Ordinance was passed
and aaopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield, on the
