VMEREAS. the new Bakersfield Central Fire Station is
located on ~lst Street, and ~lst Street is a through street in
the western part of the city of Bakersfield and has been made
a boulevard. and is one of the principal or major streets of the
City of Bakersfield, but has not been so designated in Ordinance
No. ~VO New Series, and is in need of immediate repair by the
removal of dips and other defects so that the same can be safely
used by the Fire Department and other travel..

SECTION 1.

ed by adding thereto a subdivision to be known as Subdivision 35.
to read as follows:
35. 9.1st Street between the Easterly line of Oak Street
and the ~!esterly line of Union Avenue.
SECTION
This ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure
within the meaning of Section ~4 of the ChaPter of the City of Bakers-
field. State of California, and necessary for the immediate preservation
of the public property and safety, and shall take effect immediately
upon its passage by the City Council of the City of Bakersfield.
