AN ORDIilANCE LEVYING UPON THE ASSESSED VALUA-
TION OF THE TAXABLE PROPERTY IN THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIMLD A RATE OF TAXATION UPON EACH ONE
HUE~RED DOLLARS OF V~ILUATION FOR THE FISCAL
YEAR BEGINNING JOLY l, 1939, AND ENDING JUNE
30, 1940.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CiTY OF BAKERSFIELD,
as follows:
SECTION 1.
That there is hereby levied a tax of one ($1.00) dollar on
each one hundred (~lO0.O0) dollars of the assessed valuation of all
taxable property in the City of Bakersfield, County of Kern~ State
of California, for municipal expenses of the Municipal Government of
said City (excepting as hereinaft~,v mentioned) durin~ the fiscal
year beginning with the first day of July, 1939, and ending with the
thirtieth day of June, 1940.
SECTION 2.
That there is hereby levied a tax of eleven (~.ll) cents
on each one hundred (~lO0.O0) dollars of the assessed valuation of
all taxable property within the City of Bakersfield, County of Kern,
State of California, for Parks and Playgrounds.
SECTION 3.
That there is hereby levied a tax of one and one-half
($.015) cents on each one hundred ($100.00) dollars of the assessed
valuation of all taxable property within the City of Bakersfield,
County of Kern, State of California, for the acquisition and construc-
tion of a sanitary main sewer, sewage pumping station and sewage
treatment plant.
SECTION 4.
That there is hereby levied a tax of ~wo~-and on.e-half (~.0~5)
cents on each one ~mdred ($100.OC) dollars of the assessed valuation
of all taxable property within the boundaries of the City of Bakers-

field, County of Kern, State of California, as said boundaries were
fixed and determined, on the ~nd day of Narch, 19BS, for interest
and sinking f~md on 191~ Sewer Bonds.
SECTION 5.
That there is hereby levied a tax of one and one-half
($.015) cents on each one hundred ($100.00) dollars of the assessed
valuation of all taxsble property within the boundaries of the City
of Bakersfield, County of Esr~. ~tate of California~ as said boundaries
were fixed and determined, on the22nd day of ~arch, 1923, for i~terest
and sinking fund on the 191~ C~ty Hall Bonds.
BECTION ~.
That there is hereby levied s. tax of one ($.01) cent on
each one ~dred (~100.0O? dollars of the assessed valuation of all
taxable property within the boundaries of the City of Bakersfield,
County of Kern, State of California, as said boundaries were fixed
and determined, on the 2~nd day of Narch, 19B3, for interest and
sinking fund on the 191~ Fire Department Bonds.
SECTION V.
That there is hereby levied a tax of one ($.01) cent on
each one hundred (~100.00) dollars of the asssssed valuation of all
taxable property within the boundaries of the City of Bakersfield,
which was known and designated as the City of Bakersfield prior to
the consolidation of said City and Town of Kern, for interest and
sinking fund on Sewer Bond Number One.
SECTION 8.
That there is hereby levied a tax of one (~.01) cent on
each one hundred dollars of the assessed valuation of all taxable
property within the City of Bakersfield, County of Kern, State of
California,' for the construction of paving, curbs and walks at
Central Fire Station, and for the furnishing and installing of the
necessary furniture and fixtures in said Central ~ire Station.
SECTION 9.
That there is hereby levied a tax of nine and one-half
($.095) cents on each one hundred (~100.00) dollars of the assessed
valuation of all taxable property in 'the City of Bakersfield, County
of Kern, State of California~ fcr the construct~o~ of Cooperative
Improvements undertaken under the provisions of the Works Progress
~.dm~!strat!~n.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the forsgoing Ordinance was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield on the/.~
day of August, 1939, at a regular meeting thereof, by the following
