ANCE N0. 545 NE~V SERIES OF THE CITY OF BAKE~SFIELD,
CALIFORNIA.
~LEREAS, it is necessary to provide for the daily operation
of a municipal department,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT 0RDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF BAKERSFIELD, as follows:
SECTION 1.
That Subdivision 36 of Section i of Ordinance No. ~4~ New
Series of the City of Bakersfield entitled "AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE
COMPENSATION OF CERTAIN OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY OF BAKERS-
FIELD AND REPEALING ORDINANCE NUMBER 517 NEW SE~(IES OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD AND ALL ORDINANCES A~vD PARTS OF ORDINANCES A~.~ENDATORY
THEREOF OR IN CONFLICT HEREWITH" be and the same is hereby amended
to read as follows:
S6. STENOGRAPHER IN ENGINEERING DEPART~ENT.. .............. $11~.00
SECTION 2.
This ordinance is designed to provide for the daily opera-
tion of a municipal department, and is hereby declared to be an
emergency measure and shall be in full force and effect on and
after December l, 1939-

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Emergency Ordinance
was passed and. adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at
