AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE CREATING THE OFFICE OF
DEPUTY CITY ATTORNEY FOR THE CITY OF BAKERS-
FIELD, CALIFORNIA, AND PRESCRIBING HIS DUTIES.
V~HEREAS, it is necessary to provide for the daily operation
of the Legal Department of the City of Bakersfield by adding to the
personnel of the department in order to properly care for the various
legal matters appertaining thereto,
AND WHEREAS, it is necessary and advisable to create the office
of Deputy City Attorney,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF BAKE-.RSFIELD, as follows:
SECTION 1.
The office of Deputy City Attorney of the City of Bakers-
field is hereby created.
SECTION 2.
The Deputy City Attorney shall perform such duties as may
be assigned to him by the City Attorney or the Assistant City Attorney,
and such further duties in the Legal Department as may be required
of him by the Charter of the City of Bakersfield, the laws of the
State of California, and ordinances of the City of Bakersfield, and
in the absence of the City Attorney and the Assistant City Attorney
shall perform any of the duties of said officers.
SECTION 3-
This ordinance is designed. to provide for the daily operation
of a municipal department, and is hereby declared to be an emergency
measure and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon its
passage.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Emergency Ordinance was
passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield on the

by the following vote:
