AND SANTA FE RAIL~¥AY CONPANY, A CORPORATION,
ITS SUCCESSORS AND ASSIGNS, A PERI~IT TO LAY
DOWN, CONSTRUCT, N~AINTAIN AND 0 PERATE A RAIL-
ROAD TRACK OF STAi~DARD GAUGE ACROSS KING
STREET, LOCATED IN THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD,
COUNTY OF KERN, STATE OF CALIFORNIA.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD,
as follows:
SECTION 1.
The Council of the City of Bakersfield hereby grants to
the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway Company, a corporation
organized and incorporated under the laws of the State of Kansas,
its successors and assigns, a permit to lay down, construct, maintain
and operate a railroad track of standard gauge across King Street,
located in the City of Bakersfield, County of Kern, State of Calif-
ornia, the particular description of said railroad track being as
follows:
Commencing at a point in the northwesterly
line of King Street, said point being 35.11
feet northeasterly along said northwesterly
line from its intersection with the north-
easterly line of Fremont Avenue; thence
easterly on a 6 degree 5 minute curve concave
to the south 77.62 feet, thence on a 10 degree
curve concave to the south and compounded to
the aforesaid curve 8.31 feet to a point in
the southeasterly line of King Street, said
point being 66.87 feet northeasterly along
said southeasterly line from its intersection
with the northeasterly line of Fremont Avenue.
SECTION 2.
That said permit and privilege is granted subject:
(a) To such regulations and conditions as may be pres-
cribed from time to time by the Council of the City of Bakersfield.
(b) To the use of said railroad track for the trans-
portation of freight for hire.
(c) That said railroad track must be laid to conform to
the grade of the street over which it passes, and the work must be
done to the satisfaction of the City Engineer of the City of
Bakersfield, and must be kept and maintained in good condition and
repair to the satisfaction of said City Engineer.
(d) That it must be operated under such restrictions
as not to interfere with the use of said street by the public.
(e) That this permit shall be revocable at the pleasure
of the City Council of the City of Bakersfield, and
(f) To the provisions of the Charter of the City of
Bakersfield.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Ordinance was
passed and adopted by the Council of the City.of Bakersfield, at
a regular meeting thereof, held on the~day of ~ ,
