HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD NO 573 EMERGENCY ORDINANCE NO.~NEWSERIES AN EMERGENCy ORDINANCE NAMING AND CHANGING THE NAME OF CERTAIN STREETS IN THE CITY OF BAKERS- FIELD, CALIFORNIA. WHEREAS, the City Council hereby declares that an emer- gency exists for the immediate preservation of the public peace, safety and welfare, which requires the passage of an emergency ordinance naming and changing the name of certain streets in the City of Bakersfield, NOW, TH~REFORE, BE IT ORDAIHED BY Tm~. COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD, as follows: SECTION 1. That the name of Hoover Street from the westerly line of Alta Vista Drive to the easterly line of Stockton Street, in said City, be changed to NILES STREET. SECTION 2. · That the name of Niles Street from the westerly line of Alta Vista Drive to the easterly line of Stockton Street, in said City, be chapped to NEVADA STREET. SECTION 3. That those certain parcels of land heretofore acquired by said City for street purposes and described in deeds recorded in the office of the Recorder of Kern County, California, as follows: Book 946, page 110; Book 946, page 112; Book 945, page 209; Book 94~, page 262; Book 949, page 97; Book 955, page 347; Book 949, page 284; Book 9~, page 349, and Book 9~, page 424, all in Official Records of Kern County, and that certain parcel of land described in Court Case No. 3~796 in the Superior Court of said Kern County, have become an unnamed street in the City of Bakersfield, and the above mentioned unDamed street is hereby accepted and dedicated as an open public street in said City of Bakersfield, and the name by which it shall be known and called is hereby declared to be NILES STREET. -1- SECTION 4. This ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency ordinance within the meaning of Section 24 of the Charter of the City of Bakersfield, State of California, and necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, safety and welfare, and shall take effect immediately. ......... 000 .........
