AN EMERGENCY 0RDII~ANCE ACCEPTING AND DRDICATING A
PORTION OF A STREET TO BE KNOWN AND CALLED
THIRTIETH STREET, IN THE CITY OF BAii~t~FIF. LD.
WHEREAS, the City Council hereby declares that an emergency
exists for the immediate preservation of the public peace, safety
and welfare, which requires the passage of an ordinance accepting
and dedicating a certain portion of a street, to be known and
called Thirtieth Street, in the City of Bakersfield,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT 0RDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF BAKERSFIELD, as follows:
SECTION 1.
That certain parcel of land heretofore deeded to the City
of Bakersfield for street purposes, and described in a deed recorded
on the l~th day of November, 1940, in Book 974, at Page 49, Official
Records, in the office of the Recorder of Kern County, California,
has become an unnamed public street in said City.
SECTION 2.
The above mentioned street is hereby accepted and dedicated
as an open public street in said City of Bakersfield, and the name by
which it shall be known and called is hereby declared to be "Thirtieth
Street".
SECTION 3.
This ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency ordin-
ance within the meaning of Section 24 of the Charter of the City of
Bakersfield, State of California, and necessary for the immediate
preservation of the public peace, safety and welfare, and shall take
effect immediately.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Emergency Ordinance
was passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield, at
a regular meeting. thereof held on the ~__~ay of November, 1940,
