HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD NO 582AN E~.RGENCY ORDINANCE DESIGNATING CERTAIN STREETS IN THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD AS "STREETS OF MAJOR IMPORT- ANCE", OTHER THAN STATE HIGHWAYS, IN ACCORDANCE WITH SECTION 195, CHAPTER 642, OF THE STREET AND HIGHWAY CODE, AND REPEALING ORDINANCE N0. 581 NEW SERIES OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD, CALIFORNIA. WHEREAS, the City Co~uncil hereby declares than an emergency exists for the immediate preservation of the public peace, property, safety and welfare, which requires the passage of an emergency ordin- ance designating certain streets in the City of Bakersfield as "Streets of Major Importance", NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINEDBY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD, as follows:: SECTIONi_.t The following named streets are hereby designated as "streets of major importance" within the City of Bakersfield, other than state highways, in accordance with Section 195, Chapter 642, of the Street and Highway Code:~ 2. 24th Street between Golden State Avenue and Union Avenue. 3- 19th Street between Oak Street and Union Avenue. 4. 18th Street between Oak Street and Union Avenue. 5. TruxtunAvenue between Oak Street and Union Avenue. 6. California Avenue between Oak Street and Union Avenue. 7. Chester Lane between Oak Street and Oleander Avenue. 7A. Forrest Street between Oleander Avenue and H Street. ~B. 8th Street between H Street and Union Avenue. 8. Palm Street between Oak Street and H Street. 9- 4th Street between H Street and Union Avenue. 10. A Street between 2nd Street and California Avenue. 11. Oleander Avenue between Brundage Lane and California Avenue. 12. H Street between Brundage Lane and Golden State Avenue. 13- Chester Avenue between Brundage Lane and Garces Circle. 13A. Chester Avenue South between Terrace Way and Brundage Lane. 14. M Street between 19th Street and Golden State Avenue. 15. Jewett Avenue between Southern Pacific Railway and 34th Street. 6. Haley Street between East California Avenue and Northerly City Limits. 35. 21st Street between Oak Street and Union Avenue. 35A. 21st Street between Union Avenue and East Truxtun Avenue. 36. 30th Street between Union Avenue and Garces Circle. SECTION 2. The numbers set opposite the streets in Section 1 of this ordinance are as shown on "Map of the City of Bakersfield, California, showing State Highway Routes and Streets of Major Importance", on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Bakersfield. SEC~ION~. Ordinance No. 581 New Series of the City of Bakersfield is hereby expressly repealed. SECTION4_,t This ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure within the meaning of Section 24 of the Charter of the City of Bakersfield, State. of California, and necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, property, safety and welfare, and shall take effect immediately. ........... 000-- ..........
