AN ORDINANCE DESIGNATING AND DIRECTING THE
BUILDING INSPT~jCTOR OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD
TO ENFORCE CERTAIN STATE LAWS PERTAINING TO
THE CONSTRUCTION OF BUILDINGS.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD,
as follows:
SECTION 1.
That the Building Inspector of the City of Bakersfield be,
and he is hereby designated as the person directed to enforce
certain laws of the State of California pertaining to the construc-
tion of buildings, namely, the Statutes of 1933, Chapter 601, as
amended by the Statutes of 1935, Chapters 65 and 343; the Statutes
of 1939, Chapter 60; and the Statutes of 1941, Chapters 301 and 1065,
said statute being commonly known and designated as "The Riley Act";
and said Building Inspector is further designated as the person
directed to enforce the provisions of Part 3, Division 13, of the
Health and Safety Code of the State of California, relating to
requirements for earthquake protection in the design and construction
of buildings, the issuance of building permits, and violations.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Ordinance was passed and
adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield, at a regular
meeting thereof held on the~'F day of September, 1941, by the
