AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE ADDING SUBDIVISION 6B TO
SECTION 17 OF ORDINANCE NUMBER ~12 NEW SERIES
OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD, CALIFORNIA.
WHEREAS, the City Council hereby declares that an emergency
exists for the immediate preservation of the public peace, property,
safety and welfare~ which requires the passage of an emergency
ordinance regulating bakeries doing business within the City of,
Bakersfield but having plants outside the city limits,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT 0RDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF BAKERSFIELD, as fol'lows:
SECTION 1.
That a new subdivision to be designated as SUbdivision 6B
be added to Section 17 of Ordinance No. ~12 New Series of the
City of Bakersfield, entitled "AN ORDINANCE REGULATING AND IMPOSING
~NICIPAL LICENSES; DESCRIBING HOW AND BY WHOM LICENSES AND PERi~ITS
SHALL BE OBTAINED; NAKING A VIOLATION HEREOF A NISDEMEANOR, AND
PRESCRIBING A PENALTY THEREFOR, AND REPEALING 0RDINA~CE N0. 391
NEW SERIES AND ALL ANEND~]~S THEREFO~ AND ALL OTHER 0RDi~IANCES OR
PARTS 0FORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH~, said subdivision to
read as follows:
6B__.~.Bakeries~
For every person, firm, or corporation conducting or carrying
on the business of manufacturing and baking bread, pastries, and
other bakery goods where the plant for actual work of manufacturing
and baking bread~ pastries, and other bakery goods~ is maintained
outside the city limits of the City of Bakersfield, but doing
business within the city limits of said City of Bakersfield, th~
license fee shall be the sum of Two Hm~dred Dollars ($200.00) per
Yea~;r~ya~e in advance,~for ea.Dh_and every ~elivery vehicle mai~
tained in the conduct of said business. Provided, no license will
be issued for a term of less~than one year from the first day of
the current quarter during which said license is issued.

SECTION 2.
.This ordinanCe is hereby declared to'be an emergency
measure within the meaning of Section 24 of the'Charter of the
City of Bakersfield, State of California, and necessary for the
immediate preservation of the public peace, property, safety and
welfare, and shall take effect immediately.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing'Emergency Ordinance
was passed and adopted by the Council of the .City of Bakersfield,
at a regular meeting thereof held on the g'y~day of October,
