AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE AR, EIVDING TAXATION
ORDINANCE NO. 514 NEW SERIES 0F THE CITY
OF BAKERSFIELD BY ADDING SECTION 119A TO
C HA PTER X. ~EEREOF.
WHEREAS, the City Council hereby declares that an emergency
exists making' it necessary to provide for the daily operation of a
municipal department, to-wit: That it is necessary to provide an
alternate method for the sale and disposition of real properties
deeded to the City of Bakersfield by reason of delinquent taxes and/or
public improvement assessments,
NOW, TBEREFORE~ BE IT 0RDAI~D BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD, as follows:
SECTION 1.
- In order to provide an alternate method for the sale and
disposition Of real properties deeded to the City of Bakersfield by
reason of delinquent taxes and/or public improvement assessments,
Taxation Ordinance.No. ~1~ New Series of the City of Bakersfield
is hereby amended by adding to Chapter X thereof a new section to be
known as Section l19A' which section sha].l consist of all of Chapter
7, Part 6, Division I of the Revenue and Taxation Code of the State
of California, entitled "SALE TO PRIVATE PARTIES AFTER DEED TO STATE",
and all of Chapter 8, Part'6, Division I of the ReVenue and Taxation
~!ode of the State of California, entitled "DEED TO STATE, ,COUNTY OR
PUBLIC AGENCIES", enacted by the Statutes of 1939, Chapter 1~4, as
said Chapters hav4'b~gn~'~he~'~o~'o~''~ded~s 'bf '~he effective date
of this ordinance, and the same are hereby adopted and made a part of
Taxation Ordinance No. ~14 New Series by reference thereto, the same
as though set out in full herein.
SECTION 2.
This ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency
measure within the meaning of Section 24 of the Charter of the
Cityof Bakersfield, State of California, and necessary to provide
for the daily operation of a municipal department, and shall take
effect immediately.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Emergency Ordinance
was passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield,
